Crowned “King of Cheeses” in 1815 at the Vienna Congress, which took place to redraw the borders of Europe, his nickname also comes from the fact that he was appreciated by many kings, including Louis XVI. That’s why, fifty cars travelled back and forth between Versailles and Meaux weekly to supply the king’s tables. This soft cheese releases the aromas of fresh cream and Paris mushrooms. It is a flowery crust cheese whose paste is straw yellow, creamy and supple with aromas of fresh cream and Paris mushrooms.
